Own an Original, Personalized Airtoons Portrait
As the creator of Airtoons I thought it would be a fun idea to make customized Airtoons available. So now they are! You too can own a one-of-a-kind Airtoons portrait. They're the perfect addition to a new (or old) apartment, as a gift, or for anyone who has ever wondered what they'd look like inside of an Airtoon. Custom illustrations have also been created for Foo Fighters, DJ Mark Farina, and a slew of other happy Airtoons patrons all around the globe.
Your portrait will be framed, matted, and printed on archival paper with archival pigment ink which will supposedly last you over 100 years. A unique serial number is also assigned to each portrait to verify its authenticity.

-
How much is shipping?
I charge a flat shipping / handling rate of $15.00 USD. (For orders outside the US it's $45.00 USD.) This cost covers all of the packing materials, postage, and my time spent packing/shipping your portrait.
-
Can you make pet or animal portraits?
Of course!
-
What about planes, trains, dirtbikes, seahorses, etc?
Yep, it's up to you what or who you'd like in your portrait.
-
How many people can I have in my portrait?
Portraits picturing three or more people will require a custom quote. Please contact me for more info!
-
How long will it take?
I like to give each portrait the individual attention and time it deserves. Usually turnaround time for proofs depends on my current workload and the complexity of your portrait.
As a general rule you'll typically receive an email with your proof within 4-7 business days. The portrait is then printed, framed, carefully packed and shipped out via UPS Ground usually within another 24-48 hours. -
Is this a scam?
No! I am a 46 year old art school graduate and I've been creating Airtoons portraits for about 18 years now. Airtoons has been a hobby of mine since 1999. I'd be happy to talk to you more over a cup of coffee or perhaps through email.
-
What's pigment ink?
It's a name given to a specific process and type of ink. A unique micro-dispersion of extremely fine pigment particles allows an extraordinary amount of colorant to be used. They print with practically no metamerism, offer the best combined (archival!) longevity & color gamut, and basically, they're pretty sweet.
-
What's "archival?"
In this case "archival" basically means the image won't get discolored, etc. for a period of over 100 years. Your portrait will be printed using archival inks and paper, allowing you to enjoy it for a lifetime. The ink is also humidity resistant!
-
Can I have my portrait in different sizes?
At this time the only size offered is an 8"x10" frame matted to a 5"x7" image.
-
How do I place an order for a portrait?
It's easy! Just click the Buy Now button, complete the Paypal checkout process and email me your photo(s).
-
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover Card, and E-Checks all thanks to Paypal.
-
How can I be sure what kind of portrait I will get?
Take a look at the rotating samples at the top of the page. That's pretty much how yours will turn out. In your "portrait details" text field during the checkout process, you can suggest colors you like, what type of background you'd like to see, etc. Keep in mind that you will get your proofs emailed to you before your portrait is actually printed and framed, in case you'd like any minor last-minute tweaks. I definitely want you to be happy with how it turns out.
-
Can I request revisions after I've received my proof?
I'll happily make a few basic revisions to your portrait such as changing colors, modifying the background, slimming down your cheek bones, etc. Any major changes requested may lead to delays (depending on the amount of changes) and may require additional artwork fees of $90/hour. Please be as specific as possible when requesting revisions.
-
How is my completed portrait delivered to me?
Your portrait will be carefully packed and shipped via UPS Ground. A tracking number will be emailed to you after your portrait has shipped. (USPS global for our international friends.)
-
How should my Airtoons Portrait be cared for?
Most importantly, as with any art, your portrait should never be placed in direct sunlight. Other than that, just dust the frame carefully.
-
Who retains copyright on the work?
The artist (me!) retains all copyrights to all images from the moment of creation, and is ordinarily given a term enduring for the artist's life, plus an additional 70 years after the artist's death. Crazy huh?
-
How tall are you?
6 feet and 1 inch or 185.42 centimeters!
